Internal Review Policy

Persons affected by a decision or action of the Treaty Authority may be able to apply for internal review.

The Treaty Authority is committed to integrity in its decision making, and ensuring its decisions and actions are fair.

The Internal Review Policy identifies what decisions or actions are reviewable, and who can seek a review.

An internal review will be a procedural review. This means that the reviewer will consider whether the original decision or action was made or taken in accordance with law, the Treaty Negotiation Framework and the Treaty Authority’s processes.  They will not consider the merits of the decision.

The Internal Review Policy includes important details about the timeframes for applying for a review, the information that must be included in an application for review and the process that will be followed by the Treaty Authority and the reviewer.

If you need more information, please contact the Treaty Authority.

The Treaty Authority acknowledges First Peoples as sovereign peoples throughout the lands and waters now known as Victoria and across Australia. We pay deep respect to all Traditional Owners, their lands, waters and skies, their Elders and ancestors, languages, family and clan groups, and their Lore, Law, customs, traditions and spiritual connections.
